As long as you don’t lose any fingers, it’s brilliant

April 28, 2008

Okay, the other day we were talking about potato guns and wondering how to build one (don’t ask why). So we Googled the crap out of it and found this absolute gem of a site. The ratings will tell you whether the danger is negligible, moderate, high, or do not do this. Plus the videos let you see what a dry ice bomb is without putting yourself in dry ice peril.

Perugina meet Graphis, Graphis meet Perugina

April 25, 2008

We are very proud to say that some lovely posters we created for Perugina Dark Hot Cocoa have been recognized by Graphis, the self-proclaimed “Best of International Visual Communications.” Brought to life by design director extraordinaire Steve Krone, the posters are simply art deco splendidness—splendidness that did a mighty fine job of bringing attention to a tasty dark cocoa from a renowned Italian chocolate company.

When making a logo, always check your angles

April 24, 2008

We’re not sure whether this is ironic, accurately symbolic, or a bit of both. Either way, the British Office of Government Commerce is getting more press than ever before thanks to an (unintentional?) image visible when you flip the logo on its side.

It’s only e-mail until you print it

April 17, 2008

Then it becomes ink on paper. Ink and paper that always take a toll on the earth in some form. So, before printing, just ask yourself if you really need to print it. And when sending an e-mail, turn on the HTML and insert this little ditty so that others will ask themselves the same question.

Fun with church signs

April 17, 2008

There’s a good chance that at some point you’ve driven by a church that has a sign out front with a clever little pun-laden message. Sometimes funny, sometimes scary, sometimes both. Well, now you can create your own and pass it along as a message that came straight from heaven to your brain and out your phalanges.

You can’t handle the Swedish Armed Forces

April 10, 2008

Or maybe you can. That’s what the Swedish Armed Forces recruiting site is all about—testing your mental mettle to see if you can defend the fjords with aplomb. It’s really well done, somewhat challenging, and very intriguing to see a nation’s armed forces appealing solely to the brain, not the brawn. But you have to turn the volume up, otherwise you’ll miss all of the accent-laden instructions.

Did you use words or an illustration?

April 8, 2008

What kind of question is that, you ask? Mixtapes. Gems of romance, individuality, and simple piracy. When you titled them, did you use words or an illustration? Maybe both if you were adventurous. Did you title them so that you could remember easily what the hell was on there (ODB & DMB), did you base it on a time of your life (Summa ‘92), or did you go for an abstract theme that only needed a picture (clouds oozing droplets of blood on a confused sheep). Whatever. Anyway, you need to think of a catchy theme/username because you can now make your very own mixtape for all to hear and judge you by at Muxtape. There are some rules about what artists and how many songs you can upload, but for the most part, it’s all about you sharing your knowledge of obscure bands and trying to create the best damn mix the World Wide Information Superhighway has ever seen. Or heard. Ever.
