Sometimes, we like to toot our own horn. Especially when it’s the horn of account supervisor Nathan Wozniak’s Toyota MR2, whose car probably sounded a little like this when he was placing second at the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Midwest race in St. Louis on Sunday. Not only does that make his car the fastest MR2 in the Midwest, but we think that’s enough of a reason to challenge Marlin’s Quentin Brown to find out who really is the fastest man alive.

Congrats to our very own Speed Racer, who also broke his own lap record with a 1.16.187 lap time. Now pretend you’re part of Team Wozniak, flyin’ as he guns the car around the track.

When our über talented siblings over at Marlin crafted the Political Critter website, it was to be expected that John’s head would eventually end up as the mascot for a political party. Sure, we already pretty much consider John’s head a mascot over here at deep, but quite honestly, we think that a vote for Captain Democracy would be pretty mavericky of you. So please, exercise your freedoms and help our cause by voting for John’s head. And most importantly, stay tuned for more in the coming days, because we might just have more John’s head surprises up our sleeves.

We don’t know either, but we can pretty much guarantee that Banksy’s newest display, The Village Petstore and Charcoal Grill, will leave you asking many, many questions. Including, “How did Banksy animate that sausage?”, and “Why am I suddenly craving McDonald’s combo #10?” We won’t judge you. But those fishsticks might.

If you’ve heard the rumors, it’s true — the girls at Deep and Marlin have been meeting regularly almost every Wednesday for some Stitch ‘n Bitch-style knitting at Springfield’s own Galloway Station. And while we’re not afraid to admit that our SNB get-togethers have led to several interesting conversations (specifically, “Excuse me, but why are you knitting at a bar?), someone else has found a much weirder way to use knitting as a conversation-starter. Becky Stern, a student at Arizona State University, created a Body-Technology Interfaces installation, which brings critical awareness and consideration to the complex relationship between people and technological artifacts. 

While most of us agree that yarn should mostly be used to keep necks warm, to make Cosby Sweaters, or to keep legs looking incredibly fashionable, we really think form meets function with the Drooling Buddy for Air Travel or the Laptop Compubody Sock. With the talent in our group, we might be able to pull together and come up with some great Christmas presents for our clients this year. Eat your heart out, Grandma!

Ed Rodthaler has a few things to say about the oddities/idiocies of the English language. And he was 102 when this was shot, so that’s the voice of experience speaking. The strange, funny, smart, almost-dirty-for-just-a-second voice of experience.
